For 23 years, Meirim Lachaim has been delivering food parcels to those who need it most. We receive verified addresses of families that simply cannot meet the crushing financial burden of feeding their loved ones: the elderly, single mothers, widows, and others—tragically, many many more than we want to believe.

There’s a famous saying that goes, “Half the world is hungry; the other half closes its eyes.” At Meirim Lachaim, we keep our eyes open, actively searching for that “invisible” half—the ones crying out in silence and desperation.

Our primary goal is illuminating the lives of the needy, yet it’s accompanied by a second goal that is no less vital: Preserving their dignity. We’re deeply committed to ensuring that every recipient knows that he or she matters. With sensitivity and compassion, we reach out and demonstrate that giving is a form of receiving, and this is what allows us to grow, flourish, and live in harmony.
Because the world is built on giving and chessed.

This is the magic of Meirim Lachaim! Both our volunteers and recipients express that delivery days bring so much more than food. They bring peace of mind, solace and satisfaction to both sides—through the volunteer’s smile, the spark of joy in the recipient’s eyes, and the warmth in their unique exchange.

Every month, we distribute ~1,000 food parcels to struggling families, the disabled, single parents, Holocaust survivors, and the elderly and homebound.
